- What are EqualPlus Adjustable Reading Glasses?
Congratulations on your EqualPlus purchase! EqualPlus are revolutionary lenses that operate with dual-sliding technology that adjust to the very eyesight you require. These high-tech, high-performance lenses let you adjust your vision with a simple, quick turn of a dial. Ideal for reading, perfect for outdoors, EqualPlus are flexible enough to meet your optical needs!
- Can I use EqualPlus while wearing my contact lenses?
If you wear contact lenses for distance vision, then you can use EqualPlus to help you see close-up objects. They work like normal reading glasses, except they’re fully-adjustable.
- Will EqualPlus damage my eyes?
Our glasses are just like normal reading glasses you would buy over the counter. They won’t damage your eyes and are perfectly safe to use.
- Can I stop going to the optician once I’ve started using EqualPlus?
You should have your eyes examined regularly by an eyecare professional. Never disregard professional advice or delay in seeking it simply because you are occasionally using EqualPlus.
- What is the proper way to clean and care for my EqualPlus Adjustable Reading Glasses?
To remove light dirt and fingerprints, use a microfibre cleaning cloth or a soft optical cleaning cloth. A lens cloth dampened with lens solution or soapy water can also be used to clean the lenses, but they should be dried immediately with a soft, dry cloth (do not use tissue).
Do not submerge the lenses in liquid. For very dirty lenses, use water and a mild, non-corrosive soap.
DO NOT use heavy force to clean the lenses, as this may cause scratches.
- Why would someone use EqualPlus when they could just get traditional glasses?
Adjustable lenses can be conveniently used as OTC eyewear without a prescription for instant vision correction at times when speed, flexibility in focus, or both, are important (e.g., when prescription eyeglasses are lost or broken, when patients face changes due to surgery or medical treatment, or for switching between vision needed for tasks performed at different distances).
- Can my partner and I minimize eyeglass costs by using the same pair of EqualPlus?
Absolutely! EqualPlus allows users to share the same pair of eyeglasses for different situations – a person who needs higher magnification for reading or close work can change the power and use the same pair of eyeglasses for computer work, for instance, and for a number of other tasks. That being said, for the sake of convenience, it’s always better to have one pair each to avoid having to take them away from your partner or have them taken away from yourself.
- Will using EqualPlus replace my need for prescription eyewear?
Unfortunately, no. EqualPlus eyewear is not intended or designed for long-term use as it does not provide the precision vision that prescription eyeglasses do. Nonetheless, the product provides significant benefit to the wearers in many other situations.
- How do I set up my EqualPlus Adjustable Reading Glasses for distance viewing?
To adjust for distance:
Begin by setting up the eye chart that came in your EqualPlus package.
Keep a four-meter distance between you and the eye chart for the most accurate results.
Start by turning the dials on both sides of the EqualPlus frame forward until you hear a click, or until you cannot turn the dial any further. As you twist the dial, you are adjusting the lens power so you can see clearly.
Put on your EqualPlus Adjustable Reading Glasses and cover your left eye.
At a distance of four meters from the eye chart, turn the dial until the lens is clearly in focus. For the best results, try to read a line of letters from the bottom two lines on the eye chart.
Now cover your right eye and repeat the process.
- How do I set up my EqualPlus Adjustable Reading Glasses for reading?
Place your preferred reading material on a flat surface in front of you so that your hands are free to adjust the lenses.
Start by turning the dials on both sides of the EqualPlus frame forward until you hear a click or you cannot turn the dial any further.
Put on your EqualPlus and cover your left eye while looking at the words on the page.
Turn the dial on the right side of the frame backwards until the lens is properly focused.
Cover your right eye and repeat the process.
